ABOUT US


Dakota Gasification Company, a for-profit subsidiary of Basin Electric Power Cooperative, owns and operates the Great Plains Synfuels Plant near Beulah, North Dakota. The Synfuels Plant is the only commercial-scale coal gasification facility in the United States that manufactures natural gas.

Carbon capture pioneers

Dakota Gas has been capturing carbon dioxide for underground storage since 2000. In the years since, that plant has captured 40 million metric tons of CO2.

CAREER CENTER


Dakota Gas is a workforce of over 500 employees at the Great Plains Synfuels Plant near Beulah, North Dakota, and Basin Electric Headquarters in Bismarck, North Dakota. Many are shift workers - engineers and maintenance professionals who keep the gasification plant and other facilities running 24/7, supported by a highly skilled team of administrative professionals.
