Dakota Gas encourages its employees to donate their time and talent to serving their communities by participating in civic, charitable and local organizations. Employees also have the opportunity to use company time to participate in charitable events, but many use their own time to make a difference.

Charitable events that Dakota Gas employees may actively participate in include:

  • Abused Adult Resource Center's volleyball fundraiser
  • American Cancer Society's Relay for Life
  • American Heart Association's Heart Walk
  • American Lung Association's Kayla's Asthma Campaign
  • Blood Drives
  • Cerebral Palsy Power Peddlers
  • Charles Hall Youth Services' Footin' it for Fun Walk-a-thon
  • Great American Bike Race
  • March of Dimes
  • Multiple Sclerosis Bike Tour
  • Multiple Sclerosis Walk
  • Prairie Rose State Games
  • Rebuilding Together Bowling Fun Day
  • Roger Zarfos United Way Softball Fun Day
  • Ruth Meier's Hospitality House Stone Soup Kitchen
  • Salvation Army
  • St. Baldrick's Foundation
  • United Way Day of Caring

Dakota Gas employees also make an individual effort to volunteer for organizations such as:

Salvation Army

Christmas is the giving season, and during the holidays Dakota Gas employees volunteer time to bring cheer to the lives of those in need. During the month of December, employees join the fundraising efforts of the Salvation Army by ringing bells to help collect donations and hopefully fill the traditional red kettles seen across the nation.

Blood Drives

Dakota Gas employees enjoy giving of themselves in any way possible. One way they demonstrate commitment to their communities is by taking part in blood drives held several times throughout the year at other Basin Electric facilities.
