If you have other questions, please contact emckay@bepc.com.
The St. Baldrick's Web site features profiles of children with cancer who are the real inspiration behind the event. Any participant with a Web page can choose one or more children to honor. Browse the Web site (click on “The Kids”) and choose one or more children to honor at your event! Your Web page can show visitors your commitment to honoring that child. This can make a big difference in a family's life, and it will help motivate your fellow shavees, volunteers, teams and donors, too! Thank you for being a hero to kids with cancer!
Do you have an address book full of people who would love to donate money to such a great cause, and to have the pleasure of seeing you shave your head? It is easy to email a link to your friends, family and co-workers to encourage them to donate online at your event Web page.
Thank you for supporting such a wonderful event! You are a hero to kids with cancer
Find a volunteer at your location to coordinate all activities. This individual should go to http://www.stbaldricks.org/, click on Get Involved/Volunteer. Locate Basin Electric's event, and click “Join Event.” The volunteer coordinator will facilitate the head shaving/hair cutting event at your location and assure that all rules are being followed. The St. Baldrick’s Event Organizer Guide contains guidelines and serves as a valuable resource.
You can plan your event any way you'd like. Professionals must do the shaving, but you can still auction off rights to the highest bidder to assist in the head shaving. As long as you follow the rules, you can make this event what you'd like it to be. Just remember: clippers must be used … no razors of any kind.
Your coordinator should work with Jodi Schlatter and Lori Selzler at 701-223-0441 who are the official treasurers of the event on donation questions.
Volunteer shavees/individuals cutting more than 10 inches of hair should individually sign up as a “shavee.” A shavee must form a team, using your location's name.
Once your team is formed and your head shaving/hair cutting event is set at your facility, contact Anika Schaff at 701-557-5786, and she will mail you promotional materials and table tents.
All shavees will receive a St. Baldrick's t-shirt.
Please contact Anika Schaff, Mary Klecker-Green at 701-557-5604 or Emily McKay at 701-557-5618 with further questions.
