The HDQ lobby has recently been given a facelift, and as part of the new look, monitors displaying generation and event information have been placed on the east wall behind the reception desk.
The leftmost monitor displays the current synthetic natural gas and carbon dioxide output of the Great Plains Synfuels Plant near Beulah, ND. The three remaining smaller monitors show the current baseload, wind and recovered energy, and peaking station generation of all Basin Electric facilities. The center monitor displays general information including upcoming events, meetings, special guests, service recognition, weather and the cafeteria menu.
Bonnie Leingang, member load data administrator, said the decision to reconfigure the way generation data was previously displayed in the lobby was made as part of the lobby remodel. With the addition of new wind resources and Corn Belt Power Cooperative’s generating resources, it was important to develop a more appropriate way to show employees, members and visitors information they want to see. Paul Cook, Web designer III, designed the layout of the monitors.
