The sights, sounds and smells of the Nordic lifestyle will soon fill the North Dakota State Fairgrounds in Minot as people from around the world gather for North America’s largest Scandinavian festival, Nørsk Høstfest, Sept. 29 - Oct. 3. Basin Electric supports Touchstone Energy® Cooperatives’ presence every year at the international festival.
Under the sponsorship of Touchstone Energy, Copenhagen Hall offers an inviting atmosphere for Høstfest visitors with a major stage featuring continuous entertainment, quaint sidewalk cafes, and the Artisan Village. Touchstone Energy sponsors free cookies made in flash bake ovens, daily drawings for prizes, and radio personalities broadcasting Høstfest throughout the region.
Well-known entertainers, musicians, comedians, and performers from several countries headline the nightly performances. Wearing traditional costumes from their country of origin, craft artisans have something for everyone including carvings, knick-knacks, clothing, mementoes and Røsemaled items. A highly anticipated part of the whole experience, the cuisine offers an abundance of traditional Scandinavian tastes to please anyone.
