In January, Basin Electric’s system hit a new all-time member billing peak. According to Sharon Lipetzky, Basin Electric rates and revenue supervisor, the new peak is 3,012 megawatts (MW). The previous all-time member billing peak was 2,994 MW set in July 2012, and the previous all-time winter member billing peak of 2,828 MW was set in January 2012.
Dave Raatz, Basin Electric vice president of cooperative planning, said the new peak is an indication member load growth continues throughout the cooperative’s service area.
