Dakota Gas recognized for safe shipping

BNSF Railway (BNSF) honored 98 shippers June 21 in Forth Worth, TX, with the railroad’s 15
th Annual Product Stewardship Award for the safe transportation of hazardous materials by rail during 2011.
Dakota Gasification Company was one of those companies selected for the award for transporting a minimum of 500 loaded tank cars of hazardous materials during the previous year with zero non-accident releases during the entire transportation cycle and for successfully implementing the ethics of Product Stewardship under the American Chemistry Council’s Responsible Care
® initiative.
“At BNSF, our top priority is safety for our customers’ shipments, the communities we serve, our employees and the environment,” said John Lanigan, BNSF executive vice president and chief marketing officer. “We are proud to do business with so many customers that have shown the same commitment to the safe transportation of hazardous materials.”
Dakota Gas has now received this award six times — in 1997, 1999, 2007, 2009, 2010 and 2011.
