Serri takes the CEO seat

Andrew M. Serri is Basin Electric's fourth CEO since the cooperative was incorporated in 1961.

On Dec. 16, Andrew M. Serri officially took his seat in Basin Electric's general manager's office.

Ron Harper, who had served as Basin Electric's CEO and general manager since March 2000, finished his tenure this week following the December board meeting.

Basin Electric's board of directors announced in October that Serri had been selected to succeed Harper as Basin Electric's fourth CEO since the cooperative was formed in 1961.

"I'm humbled to be starting my position here as Basin Electric’s CEO. I'm looking forward to getting to know all the employees and members and working to build a better Basin Electric for the future," Serri said.

Harper said though he's moving out of the CEO position, he'll be keeping an eye on the activities of Basin Electric's membership family. "I've told the board, I've told Andy and others, you don't pour your body, mind and soul and your family into this for almost 12 years and just walk away from it. You just don't. I will be extremely interested to see how Basin continues to succeed and move forward because I know everybody here. I know what you’re capable of and it will be exciting to sit on the sidelines and watch how you continue to grow this organization."
