Dakota Gas employees reach safety milestone

The last time the Synfuels Plant achieved 1 million hours without a lost-time accident was in December 2012.

Employees of Dakota Gasification Company's Great Plains Synfuels Plant reached a milestone the week of Nov. 21, working 1 million hours without a lost-time accident (LTA).

Plant Manager Dale Johnson congratulated employees and thanked them for making the Synfuels Plant a safe place to work.

“It is notable that this accomplishment was achieved through a brown plant outage and a major ammonia plant outage. Your dedication and commitment toward personal safety, and the safety of co-workers, is appreciated,” Johnson said.

The last time the Synfuels Plant achieved 1 million hours without an LTA was in December 2012. The last LTA occurred in April 2016.

“Recognizing, identifying, and eliminating hazards is a team effort that ensures everyone has a safe working environment and no one gets injured,” Johnson said. “Our individual safety efforts affect not only ourselves, but also the plant, co-workers, and family members.”
