Krypton and xenon gases

Dakota Gasification Company's krypton-xenon is a product processed from our air separation unit. Krypton and xenon are colorless, odorless, and tasteless, noble gases (inert gases), which occur in trace amounts in the atmosphere, and are isolated by fractionation of liquefied air.

  • Dakota Gas produces up to 3.5 million liters annually.
  • Used in multi-pane windows to reduce heat loss due to convection between the panes.
  • Krypton is used in halogen-sealed beam headlights to increase light output by allowing thinner filaments to be used with acceptable useful lifetimes. Krypton is also used in lasers.
  • Xenon is used in high-intensity aviation approach lights, in high-efficiency incandescent bulbs for automotive and stage lighting uses, in plasma display panels, in operating room and internal examination lighting, and in ultraviolet lasers.
